Does Beauty and Wellness Love CBD? Awesome!
Beauty, wellness and CBD for dark skin beauties? You betcha your CBD oil. At the onset of the CBD rise, it was all about the wellness side … pain relief, aiding in depression and helping many people get some sleep. Beauty was not to be left out. After all, when you’re feeling groovy, your mind, body and spirit are in a relaxed state. Your skin benefits from a well rested and relaxed body.
Hemp Seed Oil is Not CBD Oil
I’ve heard women talking and read about CBD being nothing more than hemp oil. If that were the case, there wouldn’t have been regulation in place for so long to prevent the sell of cannabis. Health food stores have been selling hemp oils for decades.
Hemp seed oil comes from cold pressing seeds from the plant. Technically, it contains no cannabinoids because they are not present in the hemp seed plant. It’s not an active ingredient and is not known to have any anti-inflammatory benefits.
CBD on the other hand, is thought to be more like an active ingredient. CBD is extracted from the flower and leaves of the hemp plant which are high in cannabinoids. To avoid buying into the wrong message and product, look for these ingredients on the label of products claiming to be CBD: CBD, hemp CBD, full-spectrum hemp extract, phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil and hemp extract oil. You’ll want to make sure these ingredients are at the beginning (within the first five) of the list.
Essential Oils and CBD Topically
When working with CBD topically it’s more than likely going to be a salve, cream or serum. Some of you will create your own products, others will purchase ready made blends. If you’re making your own product, be clear of your intention, what you want the product to do. CBD brings another element of blending into a product. The molecules of the essential oils you’ve chosen as well as the purpose has to be taken into consideration. It sets the profile and therapeutic properties of the blend. Looking at the so called healing properties of an essential oil, you’d choose oils such as juniper, comfrey and lavender if you were creating a blend for pain.
Beauty From Within With CBD
Edibles? You’ve got options! For years cannabis brownies were the talk of many dormitories. Laced brownies as they were often called, provided the escape for those not wanting to deal with the world and its issues. Brownies aren’t the only food substance these days. Everything from teas, to carrot top CBD pesto with pasta, food choices are plentiful. Some recipes will give you dosage, while others will tell you to figure it out based on your needs. Since you’re all different, it makes sense to create and infuse your meals based on your specific need for CBD. The concentration of the oil you’re using, whether or not you’re planning a personal meal or a multi-dish course with CBD, will all play a role in your recipes.
I’ll continue to bring you updates as CBD finds it’s place in the realm of beauty and wellness.
That’s it for this week. As always …
