How to Have Awesome Building Blocks of Wellness, Inside and Out
True wellness is gained by having the ability to focus on a few essential elements. Essential as in what you eat, exercising, minimizing your stress and getting plenty of rest. They all play an important role in the beauty of your dark skin complexion.
That youthful glow, radiant looking skin and healthy looking head of hair does not come unless you abide by these building blocks.
So, let’s take a closer look at each as it pertains to your wellness …
Eating the right foods - You are what you eat and your skin benefits from it. Not just the right foods but a variety of the right foods. Some nutritionist tell you to eat by blood type, others tell you to eat based on color. Combine them and make sure your plate is filled with lots of green foods.
Seasoning is important. Instead of a lot of salt, try mixing herbs and spices. They can act as nutritional powerhouses. Parsley, oregano, turmeric, thyme and rosemary will bring lots of flavor to your meals.
Exercise will benefits all body types - Whether it’s walking, swimming, dancing, strength training, yoga or tai chi, you need to keep your body moving. At least three days a week have a routine in place to get you moving.
You don’t have to make your life difficult. Walk around your house for 15 to 30 minutes, inside and out. You’d be surprised at how many steps you’re taking and how much you’re working your heart and the rest of your organs.
Wait, there’s more …
Minimize Your Stress - Since we’re in the middle of a global pandemic at the time of this writing, this is easier said than done. How many of you realize that before the pandemic your glass was half full? Yet you complained about it always being half empty.
As humans, we complain too much. Try looking at the positive side of things and have gratitude for where you find yourself. It will make your life a lot less stressful. Try and catch yourself every time you’re about to complain. Replace the complaint with something positive.
Get Your Rest - This is a big deal. I was tired as all get out last week and couldn’t figure out why. Then it dawned on me that I was getting up at 6-6:30 every morning and not going to bed until midnight or 1:00 am the next morning.
My body can’t function on small amounts of sleep. I need a good seven to eight hours of a good nights sleep to be clear headed and well rested.
Learn your body's clock. It will allow you to be more productive in the long run.
Combining All Four Elements …
Once you’ve got your eating habit in place, exercising on a regular each week, minimizing your stress level and getting your sleep, you’ll feel so much better.
It’s four things to do without a lot of layers. Keep it simple and you can have and awesome building block for wellness inside and out.
That’s it for this week. As always …
