Are you ready to transition your skin care regimen for Fall Season? Summer was great, yet there’s nothing like an Autumn morning walk in the fresh air.
That change of air means a change in how you care for your skin. With temperatures dropping and the air quality changing inside and outside your dwelling, there are a few things to consider.
You’ll want to prepare your skin for the coming change so that its not traumatized by the time we reach winter season. When speaking of a regimen, most of you think this only applies to your face.
Not so at all. Your entire body is your universe of skin. Every inch of you must be considered and cared for.
How to Transition Your Skin Care Regimen for Fall
Cleansers - It’s time to add cream based cleansers to your skin care regimen. They’ll help nurture and nourish your skin as the temps begin to drop. Cream cleansers have a way of softening and cleaning your skin without striping it of its natural oils. With green tea extract as an added ingredient, your skin is bound to find its balance and care in the Fall Season.
Creamy rich body washes will work for the rest of you from the neck down. They can be very hydrating and help reduce moisture loss as your cleanse.
Body Butters and Oils - Butters and oils are used more during cool temperature months. They’re heavier in texture and help prevent moisture loss, as well as, provide the added bonus of hydrating your skin.
The best time to use these beauties is when you step from the tub or shower. Your skin is moist from the water and will absorb creams and oils better.
Exfoliate - When you exfoliate, you’re removing the dead skin cells from your skin. During the cooler months, if you don’t exfoliate, you’ll see your skin becoming dull and ashy looking. This ashy dull gray matter is like having dandruff accumulating on your skin.
Your body and your face, should not use the same exfoliants. These are two different skin types and should be treated accordingly.
Wait … there’s more. Don’t forget about your lips and hands.
Hands - With the Coronavirus still very much in our lives, so are hand sanitizers. They are becoming very drying to your skin. So, those Shea butter based creams are going to be a really good addition to your product mix.
Lips are meant to be kissable soft at all times. Yet when cooler temps arrive, they seem to want to chap up. This will take moisturizing them from within by drinking lots of water. You’ll take care of the outer lips with topical products such as chap sticks and lip balms.
